Icod de Los Vinos was declared a Property of Culural Interest on 26th November 2002. The first stones were laid in the town in the mid-fifteenth century and it was defined over time according to the private and social needs of each historical moment. Nowadays, our heritage is the legacy of a town with tenacity which has brought its history and its experiences to life in the secrets and foundations of its cultural and artistic traditions.

El Drago Milenario Dracanaceae. Dracaena draco
It is a macaronesic endemism, the only one of its kind, for its age and dimensions ( more than 20 metres high and 10 metres in perimeter of the base of the trunk). Its name refers to its aspect of dragon, turning its hanging roots into dense beard, its sap into red blood and its entwined branches into a multitude of arms of an imaginary being.

Mariposario del Drago ( Icod de Los Vinos, 5 min )
The Mariposario del Drago is a tropical garden where hundreds of butterflies belonging to exotic species from all parts of the world fly in total freedom. You will be able to observe each phase of its biological cycle (egg, caterpillar, pupa) and take pictures of the biggest and most spectacular butterflies.

Cueva del Viento ( Icod de Los Vinos, 10 min)
The experience of visiting one of the largest lava tubes in the world.
The Viento-Sobrado Cave underground complex is the largest lava tube in the European Union. It was created by lava flows from Pico Viejo, next to Mt. Teide .
A visit to the Viento-Sobrado Cave gives you an insight into the role that lava flows play in a volcanic eruption, and offers you the chance to see the whimsical forms sculpted by the lava in the bowels of the earth. It is a fine example of geological complexity. There are three different levels of passages in the more than 17 kilometres of tubes, together with beautiful geo-morphological phenomenon like chasms, terraces and other lava formations.

Campo de Golf Buenavista Golf ( Buenavista del Norte, 10-15 min)
The golf course of Buenavista del Norte is located in the extreme northeast of Tenerife, next to the Teno Mountain range (a natural area protected within the category of rural park). The area is well known for its mild climate all year round.

Auditorio de Tenerife (Santa Cruz, 50-55 min )
The Auditorium of Tenerife, masterpiece of architect Santiago Calatrava, can be classified as late-modern architecture from the end of the twentieth century. According to Calatrava; the forms originate from a free gesture of marked expressive intent, which coaxes the artistic nature of activities in the interior to transcend towards the exterior.
Diagrammatically speaking, the building is composed of a succession of platforms, overshadowed by the enormous curved volume of the Main Hall. This is the heart of the building, both formally and structurally. The 50 m high overhanging roof gives the impression of animal-like movement and flexibility. The offices and rooms of the Auditorium, and the annexed buildings located beneath the platforms that surround the building, ensure that this multi-purpose centre can accommodate a considerably varied cultural offer.

Paque Nacional de Las Cañadas del Teide (65-70 min)
Located on the island of Tenerife, it was declared a National Park in 1954. With an extension of 18,990 hectares, it is the largest of the Canary Islands ' National Parks. From its aboriginal origins and right through to the decade of the fifties, this area was basically used for island pastureland, as it was the main area for grazing during the summer season.
It is one of Spain 's most visited parks, because in addition to the proximity of the most important tourist areas on the island, its ease of access is to be taken into account, and the existence of the cableway that allows access to the summit of the Teide.
This park offers us one of the most spectacular examples of volcanoes in the world. The volcanic relief culminates in the impressive massif of the “Teide-Pico Viejo” ( 3718 m above sea level).
